We are delighted to invite you to a special event accompanying the ESTS 2026 conference: a conversation with Polish Nobel Prize–winning author Olga Tokarczuk and Prof. Anders Olsson, the Chair of The Nobel Committee for Literature, entitled Borders of Imagination: Conversations on Literature and the World.
This will be an open dialogue exploring the transformative power of literature, its ethical and imaginative dimensions, and its capacity to transcend cultural and political boundaries. The discussion, “Tenderness, Language, Imagination,” will touch on themes including the role of literature in cultivating empathy, language as a form of resistance, care, and discovery, imagination as a means of crossing borders, and reflections on the Nobel Prize experience from both the writer’s and the committee’s perspectives.
We hope this will be a memorable highlight of the conference. The event will take place on the evening of Friday,
